When you take a look at the options to buy Canon 5D Mark II, all the anxiety and turmoil of purchasing a digital SLR camera may actually increase. But it doesn’t have to like that. The Mark II is very light. It’s only two pounds of sensor, glass and photobliss. The Mark II has been improved tremendously with many new features and specs. Canon really outdid themselves. Bigger sensor (amazing 21MP CMOS), better EFV (clear & bright), vignettting prevention with Peripheral Illumination Correction and a great new focussing mechanism. Wonderful.
Wanna make a tv show? Your dream is Canon’s reality. When you decide to buy Canon 5D Mark II finally it makes it within your reach. A cable production (“House”) just used the camera’s 1080p FullHD (4gb mem card stores 12min) to shoot their season finale. Unheard of before now.
Like I said, it’s not all milk & cookies. The 5D lacks some things. Don’t get your 5D wet or use it where super-quiet operation’s required. It falters in both areas, unfortunately. Reports have come in saying the 5D can’t compete in terms of focus (auto) as compared to the 30D.
Don’t let the desire to buy Canon 5D Mark II blind you to the reality that the Mark II has its limitations. You should factor them into your decision.
That having been said, it still knocks many other digital slr models for a loop.
In a nutshell, if you want a camera that is being used today for cable tv productions but still costs an unbelievably low price, the 5D Mark2 is the choice for you.
Why don’t you prove it to yourself. If you don’t believe you can get this kind of pro gear at such a low cost, go buy one and prove to yourself it’s true.
You simply can’t produce the kinds of images (and videos) with any other camera in its class for this price that you can with this camera. And when you see for yourself the clarity of images, the power of control and range of capabilities, you’ll wonder why you didn’t decide sooner to buy Canon 5D Mark II.
